On the edge<\/strong><\/p>\n

Why do I teeter on the edge of fatness
\nIt is the food I eat
\nThreatening to build a band around my waist
\nCan I keep the cholesterol at bay
\nWhen the sugar, the Suya and the Cola conspire to dissolve my resolve
\nLo and behold
\nI have tried to bend my mouth to my will
\nBut success is as fleeting
\nAs the Coldstone ice*
\nThe niece suggest I tried<\/p>\n

Who will save me from my folly
\nThe second musketeer says to try the beer for it is the drink of the gods
\nBut confusion galore abounds
\nFor isn’t it the belly of beer
\nThat prompted the guard at the door
\nTo inquire who the pregnant party was
\nWhen a friend and his love
\nBurst upon the shores of liberty
\nThe land of the brave
\nWho trust in nothing but God?<\/p>\n

The third musketeer of smaller girth
\nAbhors the beer
\nInstead supping on stronger fare
\nIs it 10 or 20 or 30 or 40 percent
\nNothing less will do
\nBut the liver has a finite life
\nAnd if it dies before I do
\nIt’s as certain as rain and taxes
\nThat I would follow shortly<\/p>\n

So shunning the advice of friends and foes
\nSetting my shoulder to the till
\nEvery breaking dawn
\n10 minutes running like the hounds of hell were fast on my heels
\nDrop and give 50 I imagine the drill serge shouting
\n6KG raised 60 times per hand like the labours of Hercules were fostered on me
\nIt barely keeps the bands at bay
\nBut I shall not be deterred from my singleness of purpose
\nEven though I teeter on the edge of fatness!<\/p>\n
