he said,<br \/>\n&#8220;tarry a little for the night is cold<br \/>\nand a cup of tea would do a soul a world of good&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>So death sat by the fire and sipped on freshly brewed tea<br \/>\nwhile the\u00a0man told tales from his past<br \/>\nComfort soon made death drowsy<br \/>\nAnd while he fought to stay awake<br \/>\nThe man grabbed him by the throat<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;What do you want of me?&#8221;, asked death,<br \/>\n&#8220;For you know I cannot die.<br \/>\nBut the tea was good and the tales were better<br \/>\nSo I will give you a chance to change my mind&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>So the man told death tales of lost love and regret,<br \/>\nof lost chances never to be regained<br \/>\nSo death patted the man on the head and said,<br \/>\n&#8220;Not today, I will visit the old crow down the road,<br \/>\nSee that you set your affairs in order,<br \/>\nfor you know not when next I will come.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>So the man found love and settled his past debts<br \/>\nand was as happy as a man can be in this world of ours.<\/p>\n<p>Many years passed and death would from time to time drop by,<br \/>\nAnd bid the man good health,<br \/>\nAnd sometimes stay for a cup of freshly brewed tea.<br \/>\nFor death had grown fond of him.<br \/>\nHe was one of the very few who feared not death<br \/>\ndeep in his heart where truths hide.<\/p>\n<p>One cold and blustery night,<br \/>\nwhile lightening rent the skies<br \/>\nand thunder clapped the ears of frightened tots<br \/>\nDeath came knocking at the door<br \/>\nThe old man opened to find death standing there<br \/>\nwith cap in hand and head slightly bowed<br \/>\n&#8220;My old friend&#8221;, the old man said.<br \/>\n&#8220;I am frail and slightly bent,<br \/>\nbut who am I to complain?<br \/>\nI have lived and enjoyed life.<br \/>\nThe night is cold and wet,<br \/>\nwon&#8217;t you tarry a little and have a cup of tea?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>So death sat again by the fire, in a comfortable chair and holding a cup of tea.<br \/>\nWhile the old man told tales from a life lived to the full<br \/>\nDeath was soon asleep, and the old man watched his weary brow<br \/>\nand let him alone till it was almost dawn<br \/>\nThen he shook death awake and bid him rise<br \/>\n&#8220;It&#8217;s almost dawn.<br \/>\nLet us leave before the house awakes,<br \/>\nit is better that way, and we have a journey to make.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>So death bid the old man rest a while.<br \/>\nAnd soon he was in peaceful repose.<br \/>\nAnd with his hand on the old man&#8217;s shoulder,<br \/>\ndeath opened the door and whispered with respect<br \/>\n&#8220;After you my old friend.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I once knew a man Who was good and nice as one could be A friendly ear when trouble comes A sagely advice from time to time One night death knocked at\u00a0his door The man offered death a seat &#8220;Dear &hellip;
